Hey everyone! We need to dicuss who is going to do what for our podcast. We then need to create a script of what we are going to say and have it viewed by everyone. We also need to figure out what everyone is doing for their second lesson plan so no one is doing the same thing!
For the podcast I was thinking about talking about PBL, what it is and why we are using it. As well as talking about our topic and why it is important. I can also talk about the concept map and maybe some goals we have for the students. Where would you like to go from this point?
Also, for the second lesson plan I was thinking about having the students compare natural disasters or temperatures amoung various areas of the US. I would like to narrow this idea down a bit more, but haven't thought of what I'd like to do yet, I'll post more when I know.
And again we need to make sure thet everyone is participating in our project or they will end up being kicked out as our last member was!
Participation in this project is greatly needed!!!
ReplyDeleteFor our podcast we should make it as though we are explaining the goals we expect them to gain. Why this is important? I agree talking about PBL would be good. I also think we should talk about using technology applications to go along with PBL. This could cover using the two concepts from the book. Or even 21 Century Technology.
We could incorporate the last project of the students comparing weather to the students across the country.
For the second lesson since it has to include data collection I was thinking I could have students observe what is happening outside. such as cloud cover temperature, and precipitation They could predict tomorrow's forecast. Incorporating types of weather and terms some how.
I could talk about class assignments we are devoting to the concept of weather. Outside activities and observation. I'm not sure what else I could speak on you pretty much covered alot in your statement. I'm sure we don't want it to be to long.
I think that for the second lesson plan talking about natural disasters is a good idea. Maybe using the penpals from before we could have the students discuss what natural disasters their area is most prone to and the effects that these natural disasters have on their area. We could also discuss different security measures that their areas take for natural disasters such as in costal communities they are required to have hurricane evacuations routes planned. Just some ideas.
ReplyDeleteFor the podcast I think that discussing PBL as well as using technology applications would be the best route to go. Im just unsure how we would elaborate fully on this. Any ideas?
And sorry I haven't been contributing as much. I promise I will be doing more and I apologize!
great ideas! I started a Google Doc again for our podcast script. I figured this would be the easiest way for everyone to review what others would like to say and give feedback. Let me know if you didn't get a link to it.
ReplyDeleteI recieved the link for the google doc. thanks for setting it up!
ReplyDeleteI recieved it as well. Remember we can't have the same lesson plans
